It's Official - Pine Lake Merges with Trout Lake
2010 Summer Camp Brochures are Available
Thus begins the tale of great kings. This summer, Trout Lake Camps shall re-live the extraordinary accounts of the Old Testament kings, seeking out the true history of those that came before us. Few among these kings created a legacy that would stand the test of time.
Yet, a small count separated themselves from the rest. They became Great Kings that spent a lifetime seeking the will of God, leaving a legacy of honor and truth.
Will you join the quest that lies before us?
2 Chronicles 31:20-21

Summer Staff New Years Was a Blast
Almost 50 summer staffers were at Timber Ridge bringing in the New Year. From late night card games to tubing at TR, fun was had and memories were made. James Rock and company provided the activities and entertainment while staffers simply enjoyed their time.
Dining Hall Kitchen Floor Poured
The dining hall has been enclosed for the winter which means our electricians and sound techs can pull the wiring in a warm building. The first layer of insulation has been sprayed and interior walls are being erected. Also, the cement floor in the kitchen has been poured. Mark and Al are busy building the stairs so that workers can access all three levels of the dining hall.
Top of Pikes Peak

James, Ben and Abby enjoy the top of Pikes Peak Mountain in Colorado. It was a 19 mile drive up the mountain with hairpin turns, ice on the roads and bighorn sheep near the road. All in all, it was an incredible adventure. They and other staff members attended the National Christian Camp and Conference Association Meeting.
Windows Installed

This week the construction at Timber Ridge has been fast and furious. We have the roofers here, the windows were installed, the application of the cultured stone is almost complete, volunteers from Berean are working on the electrical and the 248' well was dug. Check out the new Kolbe windows.
Retired Pastors and Missionaries Retreat

At Trout Lake Camps we have amazing programming for campers and guests. We do wild and crazy activities for the young at heart and for those with years of wisdom. Check out these retired pastors and missionaries who attended the "Remembering the 60's" party at Shalom House. Good times.
Vern is Back

Vern has returned to Trout Lake Camps to help build the new dining hall fireplace. He has been assisting Doug Carlson, our block layer, by helping place the cultured stone on the exterior of the building. If you are interested in volunteering contact Mark Grindahl at 218-820-3463. Thanks Vern.
Roofing The Point Office

Thanks to Derrick, Adam, Paul (see photo above) and the men from Galilee Baptist Church, Circle Pines who put a new roof on our main office building at The Point. This project was completed in one day and we are thankful to the many volunteers who help keep Trout Lake Camps in good condition.
Fall Youth Retreats in Full Swing

Check out the new wiffle ball stadium at Trout Lake Camps. The field is a replica (23% scale) or "is made in the likeness of" the new Target Field and is being used for our fall retreat theme. We are challenging youth to model Christ-likeness and focusing on 2 Corinthians 3:18, "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
Summer of 2009
God moved in the hearts of kids and teens this summer at Trout Lake Camps. Over 115 campers made a first time commitment to Jesus, 320 kids rededicated their lives to Jesus and over 50 campers decided they wanted to go into full-time Christian service. Our summer staff loved the campers, shared the message of Jesus with them, provided a safe environment and the response from parents was extremely positive. We look forward to preparing for the summer of 2010.
Men's Retreat Offering was Huge
For decades, men's retreat attendees have been supporting the mission and vision of Trout Lake Camps. Many men volunteer their time and talents at Trout by building and renovating our facilities. In the last several years numerous projects have been completed (health lodge, Shalom House, main kitchen flooring, upper restrooms and more) by volunteers. Also, the men's retreat legacy of giving to Trout was extended again as the offering was an answer to prayer. Over $12,800 was given to help renovate the lower restrooms. Thank you men's retreat for another great offering. Praise God.
